  Why not is a great place to have a coffee and meet friends,the service is good and the staff are friendly.
  But I really object to the presence of dogs in a place where food is served ,my wife and me were there
  today and the cafe was quite busy we had to share a table with three large dogs with their owners the smell from the dogs was very noticeable and was very unpleasant.

  Everything you want from a cafe. We had the best coffee we've had in East Lothian and Berwickshire (not been to Edinburgh yet) with some cake that was obviously baked by someone who knows how to please the customer -iced to perfection, moist and very very filling. My friend had a sandwich made with flaky smoked salmon from Edward Collin fish merchants which is right next to the cafe. Probably one of the best sandwiches ever! We were told the bread comes from their own artisan baker so it seems that everything that this cafe produces is the best available anywhere.
  After we'd eaten we went to the fish counter and bought the ingredients for dinner. Then we went to the deli (still in the same place!) and bought more superb food! What a place!
